The idea of the Change Makers’ Rehearsal Dinner is that rehearse the change we want to see in the world. It is exciting to see how that change takes shape as we continue on towards next steps in the days ahead.
On Saturday, September 18th, QC Family Tree hosted its second Change Makers’ Rehearsal Dinner at the Wray Ward building in west Charlotte. The Change Makers’ Rehearsal Dinner is a participatory social cultural intervention sponsored. Together, using art and culture as tools, change makers reimagined and rehearsed what’s possible for our city and beyond. Spread wide across the open air studio space, approximately twenty artists, culture bearers, and civic leaders engaged in a time of creative praxis: action and reflection.
This creative process helped to clarify the January 2022 Change Makers’ Rehearsal Dinner theme: to rehearse and explore Individual and Collective Healing; Healing for the common good, politicized healing: seeking to intervene and interrupt individual and collective generational trauma by sustaining practices & structures for social healing- our collective physical, emotional, spiritual, psychic, and environmental wellbeing.
