QC Family Tree is hosting a Tiny School for the upcoming 2020-2021 school year. Due to the rising number COVID-19 cases, many families are concerned about sending their children to traditional school. However, the online learning model has been an immense challenge for working families. For this reason, we have collaborated with close friends and families in the Enderly Park neighborhood to establish the QC Family Tree Tiny School.
The QC Family Tree Tiny School will admit 11 students, ranging in age from K-7th grade from Oaklawn Language Academy, Myers Park Traditional, Ashley Park, and Quail Hollow Middle School. Students will participate in a blend of their remote learning online courses as well activities led on campus. The parents of students in the Tiny School will have shared community agreements, and they will participate with education at the level that they are able.
Ways to contribute
QC Family Tree will be hosting the school on site in several buildings across campus. We are seeking volunteers and contributions to prepare those spaces. Check out our google form for ideas about how you can be involved!
We are seeking a full time facilitator for the Tiny School. Check out our job description and share with anyone that you know that could be interested. We will begin the hiring process August 3.
We are also seeking a Spanish tutor, as many of the students are members of a language immersion program. Our preference is that the full time facilitator would be a native Spanish speaker, but if that is unavailable we are seeking an available tutor. Please contact us if you or someone you know would be interested in this position!
The total cost of this model will be $35,000 per semester. So far, we have raised $10,000. Please help us reach our goal by contributing.
We are excited about this new opportunity to support our students' education in community. Thank you for helping us to make the QC Family Tree Tiny School a reality!
We have a lot of work to do to prepare for the 2020 school year. Check out our current needs and see if there is a way that you can volunteer or contribute for the needs of our students!
