QC Family Tree hosts a community meal every first and third Friday of the month at 6pm at 2910 Parkway Ave, 28208. (The summer month dates vary a bit, so be sure to check QC Family Tree’s calendar before settling on a date.) Sponsoring groups are asked to bring all food, drinks, ice, desserts, serving utensils, and paper goods for the meal. Bring enough for 30-50 people plus your group participants. Sponsors are asked to arrive no later that 5:30pm to help with set up. When the weather is nice, the meal is outside and there are more people.
Parking is sometimes available at the church lot across the street. If not, there is parking behind the Bette Rae Thomas rec center across Tuckaseegee Rd. Any food drop-off can be made on the sidewalk in front of the house, and then cars can be moved after the drop off.
Please be ready to set up tables and chairs at 5:30pm. The food is set up buffet style so that sponsors can join in the line and eat with neighbors. If food servers are needed for a particular dish, we will ask a couple of neighbors to participate in that way.
After the meal, we will all help pick up trash, sweep, wipe down tables, and put away furniture. You can expect community meal clean up to be complete by 7:30pm.
